Key Responsibilities

The Senior Account Executive directly supports the Account Supervisor/Director, as well as business development/sales and client services efforts by implementing and managing projects in a timely and efficient way, and by assuring top-level delivery to meet client expectations. The Senior Account Executive manages the project life cycle, using proven techniques and tools to achieve milestones and deliver results. The Senior Account Executive drives the daily activities of the project, communicating with key internal service delivery personnel and manages scope change, and timeline inhibitors.


The Senior Account Executive is responsible for implementing projects in such a way as to promote and support the success and profitability of all continuing education and/or brand support projects. The Senior Account Executive reports directly to the Account Supervisor, and is responsible for delegating work appropriately in order to execute projects according to project plan and timeline.


Job Duties:

  • Contributes to the development of client proposals, budgets and reconciliations to ensure minimum net and gross profit standards/requirement
  • Works within and manages to assigned and budgeted labor hours by job and position level, to ensure minimum standards of job profitability
  • Monitors budget including direct costs and labor costs; notifies the Account Supervisor of out of scope items and hours
  • Responsible for overall project management
  • Works with Traffic/Project Management to develop timelines and communicate milestones
  • Executes project according to timelines and budgets; manages the internal team accordingly
  • Provides quality management based on internal/external client expectations
  • Identifies possible red flags in projects and alerts team accordingly
  • Initiates and reviews creative briefs with key internal groups
  • Assists and provides liaison with faculty/moderators/freelancers
  • Interaction with finance in regard to contract negotiations for outsourced services
  • Manages communication with key, internal personnel regarding initial and on-going information and status
  • Creates/completes client contact reports
  • Coordinates pitch presentations and request for proposals
  • Provides budget reconciliation and insurance of job gross profit and net profit percentages as needed
  • Delegates projects accordingly to Account Executive, Associate Account Executive
  • Interaction with clients, as directed by Supervisor


Qualifications and Experience

  • 4-year college degree or 2-5 years relevant job experience within healthcare communications/pharma marketing agencies
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical agencies and interest in industry innovations and forecasts
  • Managed market/care experience a plus but not required
  • Project supervision and management
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to provide clear direction and set expectations
  • Works with confidential and sensitive corporate, client and employee information and must conduct him or herself accordingly
  • Budget reconciliation and insurance of job gross profit and net profit percentages
  • Mid-level working knowledge of Microsoft suite of products
